Founded in 1869, Professional Photographers of America is the world?s largest non-profit membership association for professional photographers. Our staff is made up of 45 professionals who are responsible for producing an annual national convention, a nationally recognized monthly publication, while creating a positive customer experience for over 25,000 members and 50,000 subscribers.

Our Director of Sales and Strategic Alliances will have overall responsibility for selling multiple products to our industry clients.? We are looking for a candidate who has a proven record of successfully accomplishing the following roles:

?

As a member of the senior staff,

  • You will be challenged and encouraged to challenge others.? Our ability to hold constructive and crucial conversations, keeps us on the path of success and profitability.?
  • Gather, evaluate and share competitive industry information with other members of senior staff.

?

As a Sales Director and Department Leader,

  • Build and maintain a successful sales team; staffing, employee appraisals, territory management.? Establish sales quotas and territory sales plans.
  • Modify, develop and implement sales policies, procedures and systems that respects the client?s business requirements and the company?s operational and financial performance.
  • Identify new markets, products and client opportunities within all potential avenues.? Work with Marketing Department to develop market specific strategies, sales tools and collateral materials to achieve sales objectives.
  • Create and implement a consistent sales management and territory planning process that communicates product sales expectations and drives results.
  • Generate and report monthly sales activities. Modify existing reports, if necessary, and/or create new reports. (We are always looking for improvement.)
  • Create and implement department budgets; revenue and expenses.
  • Implement and manage pricing strategies for all sales products.
  • Develop and manager strong long term relationships with key clients.

  • Strong leadership ? ability to lead a sales team towards objectives.
  • Self-driven, competitive, aggressive, yet subtle in approach.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Comfortable with confronting issues ? and be willing to make the unpopular decision.
  • Customer focused.
  • Strong negotiator ? attempts to maximize each sales opportunity with the least cost, while creating an environment of fairness.
