If it?s running more efficiently, the result is that your body can run on fewer calories and the excess will be converted into fat. Keep the components of each meal varied. Don?t fall into the habit of just eating one macronutrient at a time ? such as just protein or carbohydrates or fats. Eat a combination of each food at each meal in the proportion recommended for whichever phase of training you are in.

Cardio is essential during a cutting phase. Strength training will enable you to lose some body fat, but don?t depend on it for all your fat loss goals. Basically, a more efficient way to burn fat is to include cardio sessions in your workout routines. There are many debates as to whether high intensity interval training is better than steady state cardio, but the fact is that the harder you push yourself the more you will burn. Diminishing returns is what happens after you?ve lost body fat but have 5 to 10 more pounds to lose. The closer you get to your goal, the harder it is to take off the fat. This is a truth of physiology. Just don?t go overboard with your workouts to compensate for this slowdown. However, this won?t be a problem if you limit your cardio workouts to one hour or less. Do you need to lose a lot of body fat? One good strategy is to do cardio workouts six days a week and take one day off to let your body recover.
